This very cool guitar plays well looks great and sounds good. This 24 inch scale length example is in good, complete condition and has some dents and finish wear expected after 48 years. Here we’re looking at a Fender MusicMaster in Red finish, built during 1975 in Fullerton, California during the era of CBS ownership. The Fender DuoSonic, a two pickup version, also appeared in 1956 and was discontinued in 1969. As it was intended for beginners and younger players, it was available in two scale lengths – the ‘long’ 24 inch (609.6mm) scale length seen here, and a 22.5 inch (571.5mm) short scale. Pickups: Original 64' musicmaster pickups.Introduced in April 1956 and built until 1982, the Fender MusicMaster was an entry-level single pickup guitar. Pickguard: Original tortoise shell musicmaster pickguard with original alluminum guard underneath Tuning Machines: Original Fender single line kluson tuners Neck: April 1964 Maple Neck, A neck width (narrowest)įretboard: Brazilian Rosewood 7.25" radius Absolutely nothing has been tampered with Thank you for looking, check out the specs below.Įlectronics: All original electronics, Completely untouched, pickups date to Jun 24th 1964, pots 20th week of 1964Ĭondition: All original parts and finish. The pickup height is exactly where it's supposed to be and the entire instrument was cleaned and hydrated. That means relief, action, intonation, nut height is all precise down to the micrometer. We have made sure that this instrument is as perfect as possible out the box. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the pictures. This instrument is 100% original and 100% playable, quite rare for an instrument of thats age. The tuners turn great and the electronics are perfect. The neck has absolutely no humps and the frets have tons of life left. The pickgaurd has started to slightly warp around the neck pickup, but thats expected and not noticable unless really looking at it from an angle. This piece has your typical aged olympic white with dings and scratches that are all pictured, but without them this instrument wouldn't feel as old and special. The 100% original olympic white finish that lays right below that juicy nitrocellulose brings you so much closer to the instrument than poly and is just inspiring to hold, after all the first thing you do when you pickup a guitar is hold the neck and body. This piece is made of 57 year old alder which has lost all its moisture over time and rings like a bell, the old wood is where the vintage tone lies, and how the pickups were wound by experts back in the day, theres no question these old musicmaster pickups produce that vintage woody neck pickup tone we all adore. Fender couldnt make a bad guitar at the time and although some are better than others, they are definitley far more supreme than any reissue today. These retailed at half the price of a strat and were a student model, but retained all the same craftsmanship, parts, and construction as your 20,000$ strat. Now Why a musicmaster?Īside from being a great invesment and addition to your collection (you can never go wrong with vintage fenders) these guitars are so approachable and slinky and fun to play. Dear future owner, this musicmaster is completely original, with its original case, with 0 neck problems, and its never been tampered with.
